MMA Rashguards

1. Wing Chun as a discipline is not banned in MMA. In fact, fighters like Anderson Silva and Tony Ferguson have been known to use certain Wing Chun moves in their fights. This is a BS Hype video. The only things banned are specific moves like eye pokes and gouges.

  2. The purpose of wing chun isn't to train tournament fighters, it's to train people how to survive violent encounters in the street, and the best chance anyone has of surviving a violent encounter is to end it as quickly as possible. All of the "dirty" techniques exist with that goal in mind. Could someone skilled in MMA, who puts in hours of training daily/weekly defeat a wing chun master? Almost certainly. But we don't train to deal with MMA studs, we train to deal with random assholes on the street. Wing chun is an excellent art to study for that one purpose.

All that aside, every master I've ever had (TKD, kuk sul won, and wing chun) have said to employ your arts in this order
    1. run-fu
    2. gun-fu
    3. physical contact with your adversary. Employ techniques here which will allow you to break contact with your adversary, then see #1 on the list of techniques to employ.

If some a-hole decides to attack me and he loses an eye or suffers a ruptured testicle (more likely is I'm just going to use my 9mm), that's his problem. I do everything I can to avoid the places where violent encounters are likely to occur, so if I'm in one, it's because some shitbird brought it to me.

I was a cop in Houston, so I've been around once or twice. Swapping skin is always to be avoided where possible, but if I have to go there, there are no rules except winning.

  3. Wing Chun is so effective the Chinese abandoned the development of gun powder and guns to focus on Wing Chun, and used it to conquer the Japanese and the British 🙂

  4. I couldn't get past the first couple of minutes.. showing footage from the very first ufc events.. talking about the most popular styles you'll see with no mention of wrestling.. saying mma has been around for about 20 years.. just the ufc alone has been since 1993..nice video 🙄

  5. When I was young I met a Chinese Master of the Northern Mantis Style who is also a Chinese medicine doctor, a disciple of a famous master in Guangzhou. He said Kung Fu is not for play, it for killing. So much for the so called 'sport'.

  6. I took kenpo for a little bit and the guy you showed in the clip of kenpo on the left was my teacher. Wasn't expecting to see him lol
